HOME.
Nia & Ness
@ VORTEX (Tent): 6:00pm - 7:00pm

home. is Nia & Ness’s second evening-length dance-poetry piece, delving deep into their daily realities as a black, lesbian couple living and loving in NYC. While their previous piece, run. (OUTsider 2018), offered a glimpse into these realities and their attendant feelings, home. hones in on the difficult details and gives these feelings an anchor. From sharing everyday experiences  with “micro” aggressions to making visible the impacts of violence, Nia & Ness go there. We hope you'll join them.

Co-sponsored by Generic Ensemble Company.

AFTER-PARTY
TechnoTihuacan
Rob Fatal and Bianca Oblivion
@ VORTEX (Tent): 8:30pm - 10:00pm

TechnoTihuacan combines live DJing and Video Art remixing into a feature length experimental film performed live in front of an audience. TechnoTihuacan explores the intersectional story of Latinx contemporary life, examining border politics, de-colonialism, queer sexuality, Afro-Latinx visibility, pop culture, trans identity and spirituality. These videos, a mix of original creations and curated works, are synced with techno/cumbia/merengue/vogue music remixes that respond to and support the digital visuals.

Co-sponsored by Cine Las Americas.
