AMERICAN SPECTRAL HISTORY
Amber Bemak and Nadia Granados
Saturday (2/18), 7:30pm, The VORTEX (2307 Manor Rd.)
American Spectral History is a performance and video show which investigates relationships between South and North America through multiple manifestations of embodied love and violence. This show reflects a meeting of two lovers from North and South America--the space between them filled with ghosts. Using magic, scissors, and cloth we conjure up murdered women, using a video exchange we look to our presidents for answers, and we turn to each other to investigate our own multiple objectifications- as women lesbian self-identified monsters. We choose to mutate in order to avoid categorization, asking our audience to mutate with us as we embody a variance of formations.
Note: Performance is in English and Spanish (w/ English subtitles).
